Sankarnath Sett was born and brought up in kolkata in a prestigious family of musicians. His father late Kamal Sett was the director of Folk and Dance Department of West Bengal Government. Sankarnath started to learn the violin at an early age of 6 from his father. Later after 3 years, he took up cello along with violin. After graduation, he joined the film industry as a senior musician under the music director Ilaiyaraaja in the year 1988. He also worked under other directors such as Mr. M M Keeravani, Mr. Mani Sharma, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Achu Rajamani, Mr. Hamsalekha and many more. He is currently working as the music teacher at an International School for 7 years now. He is also taking classes at Thomson Music House in weekends. With a total experience of 30 years as a Professional Musician and a teacher he teaches violin, viola, cello and double bass. That allowed me to transfer the knowledge to other forms of singing.
